The following newspaper story is from an early Franklin, PA News Herald.  The reporter interviewed my father-in-law, Albert T. Grandelis and his sister Elizabeth who once lived in the Franklin Gate House with the rest of their family.  In this history, Ernesto Grandelis is my wife's (Suzanne Grandelis Passauer) grandfather.  He was the foreman who was responsible for the building of the mansion, the stone houses, stone bridges and stone fences on the estate.
